Job Title:            Legal, Risk and Compliance Manager

Grade:                P6

 

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the role exists in order to manage iSanti’s legal, risk and compliance portfolio

The incumbent will be responsible for strategic business partnership, which entails establishing the company’s legal, risk and compliance gaps, establishing and/or contributing to the establishment of the company’s internal controls framework, assessing compliance, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of relevant systems, processes and practices in achieving desired outcomes

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage the administration, structuring, contracting and execution of legal contracts with a focus on identifying risks and liabilities, in close partnership with Exco and our external legal counsels
  • Ensure that compliance risks (i.e. compliance with regulatory, ethical, and internal policy obligations) are appropriately monitored and addressed by management
  • Ensure that a risk-based approach is adopted to ensure that material compliance risks are addressed and mitigated by the business
  • Manage legal compliance across the business in accordance with the company’s Compliance Matrix and Compliance Standard Operating Procedures
  • Evaluate, review and asses internal controls across the business, and continuously work with internal stakeholders to improve the internal control environment
  • Develop and review company policies and procedures
  • Develop educational programmes and materials for employees, contractors and others working with the company; on regulatory developments and processes
  • Conduct investigation on any matters which warrant them
  • Periodic internal and external reporting as necessary
  • Measure and evaluate performance (including supplier performance), ensuring that Legal, Risk and Compliance efforts deliver expect benefits

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B Comm Financial, Legal, or Auditing qualification
  • Affiliation with relevant institutes beneficial
  • 5-7 years experience in a legal, compliance and risk management role; preferably in manufacturing or FMCG
  • Solid experience in corporate and operational risk management
